Default Navigation welcome screen

My mom has an 03 LS430 with Nav/ML. Every time she starts her car, there is a notice on the navigation screen asking her to accept or decline the license or something like that. Does the GS Nav/ML have the same feature? Is there any way to bypass it without having to "accept" every time you start the car?

My 2002 GS has that screen, I guess it's a legal CYA.

Default Nag Screen

We call it a "nag screen" because it always nags you at start up to keep your eyes on the road and don't fixate on the Nav screen. This is also why you can't watch movies on the new GS Nav screen unless you are parked.

I do not believe there is no way to get around that "Accept" screen unless you know how to re-program the software.

The older hard drive nav system on 98-00 GS's don't have the nag screen at start up if the car wasn't shut off in navigation (map/guidance) mode. So for example, if you were on CD/audio screen mode when you turn the car off, when you next start the car there's no nag screen to accept.

Actually, i have a 99 GS and i get the 'nag' screen...Just asks you to look on the road blah blah blah....Just a safety precaution....It asks only once after the cars turned for me...after that, the 'nag' screen doesn't go on until its shut off again...

Do'nt know about the new 01-05's..

But that's only if you were in nav when you previously shut the car down. If you press the 'audio' button for example, and then shut off the car, when you start it up you shouldn't get the nag screen to accept (I don't).

People seem to think this feature on Nav systems are a pain in the butt, but i think it keeps everyone in check for that 1 second that you hit the "ok" button you are reminded that looking at the screen while driving WILL eventually get you in a hairy situation. Plus...its there so you dont fraudulently take the nav makers to litigation for your mistakes on the road.

yeah but once you press the NAV button to get into the map, the nag screen will show up. So I guess there's really no way around it.

I'm already used to it so I guess it's not such a big deal.
