Oxygen Sensor Problem
Dee - thanks for the offer, but I ordered them a few days ago from my local dealer (pretty expensive for the gasket set but whatever).
TLW - I'm waiting for the parts to come in, and then I'll post up an update to how it feels. The RTV we used still leaks a little bit, so the idle has become funky again... The tech I happened to bump into at the parts desk said it def. the cause of my lean condition and ****ed up idle. I'll post up hopefully tomorrow when they get here and I install them...

Finally got the new o-rings installed.
Sad to say this will NOT solve the low idle issue 90% of us seem to have, but for those with an erratic/rough idle, it fixed that totally. The car actually idles lower then before (due to the normal vacuum now that the injectors are airtight), but at least it's smooth. Turning the AC on solves the really low idle, like a lot of you suggested.
If you've found your injector o-rings to be bad, its not too hard to replace them yourself - UNLESS YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO WORK WITH GAS... Don't fool around with them unless you've dealt with the fuel rail area before. The rail is pressurized even with the car off, so its best to yank the fuel pump fuse, and crank the engine til it dies a few times; then proceed.
Its just a few vacuum hoses, the wiring harness and some connectors you'll have to disconnect; its pretty straight forward. Also, when you're installing the new o-rings (2 small ones, 1 medium and 1 large ones, each injector), don't force it in vertically - you'll tear the new o-rings. The FSM says to rotate it into the seat both on the engine block and the fuel rail. The injectors will feel loose, but thats normal - they should have some roatating play (not vertically though).
Hope this helps anyone with a funky idle.

I didn't take any pics, sorry for that, it was early this morning and I didn't think of it. A mechanic should take less then an hour to do this, its really simple.

exactly what he said! i did the same on my car. as far as the low idle prob. what i did is i turned the tps slightly and that took care of the low idle prob.

you adjusted the TPS and this helped with the low idle
hmmm
anyone else ever try this
I'm ressurecting this old thread to as Guru a question --
Guru, you make reference to primary and secondary O2 sensors. Are the primary sensors the ones before the catalytic converter, and the secondary sensor after the cat?
Thanks.
