Just wondering anyone have any information about oil change, is Ok to change oil right after 1000 miles (normally I do that on my new car)? or I should wait till 5000 miles and let the dealer change it? I was thinking using Synthetic Oil, any info will appreciate.

with this forum, you need to know how to search to avoid keywords people put in their signature tags.

When I bought my car, my dealer included the first 2 changes in the price (nothing is "free"). I did the first at 1K miles, with their oil. The second, at 4K miles, I gave them 5w30 Mobil1 and they provided the filter (master mechanic said it was a very good idea to use it). I did the 3rd and 4th myself with the same Mobil1.
That Lexus does not recommend synthetic is ludicrous; other than its higher cost, they can't argue anything else.
As said before, it provides much better thermal stability, and wear at start-up (where most occurs) is practically non-existent. On my extreme hot weather, it's worth the extra cost for me, and I'm going to extend the interval from 3K to 4K miles now that I will use the car more (last time I put 3K miles in 1-1/2 years, and it was still clear when I changed it).
I use low-profile ramps to change the oil, since the bottom cover has to be removed to get to the filter. It's a piece of cake, and I let it drain overnight.
