Default Just got a 98 GS400

It's the first Lexus I've owned, already want more, lol. Haven't had a chance to clean it up yet, but snapped a couple pics last night.

It has 50,200 miles, and a couple little problems that need to be fixed up. I need to replace the windshield and driver's side mirror (just the glass, should I get this from the dealership?), and am getting tires replaced and brakes serviced at the moment. No immediate plans for mods but I'm sure that will change.

personally i would just go to a regular glass place to fix this problem, the dealer would charge u an arm and a leg for these windshields

Yeah I thought I'd just call one of those "we'll come replace it in your parking lot" windshield places. My question was directed more towards the mirror.

Whatever you do, make sure that your rearview mirror bracket is the same-- the previous owner of my car had their windshield replaced at an aftermarket shop that put an aftermarket bracket on for the mirror... so now it not only shakes on a bumpy road, but also falls down intermittently on heavy bumps. Make sure they use a Lexus bracket

welcome and neat car there

did you check on the price of the oem glass? personally i would want that. if you get aftermarket make sure it has the opening for the vin number

about the mirror, i forgot, but i THOUGHT you need to get the whole assembly. otherwise you just get a glass shop and i am sure they can just change it out for you

Welcome to CL. Looks like you got the same color scheme as me, Black/black. If you haven't got it already, get the windows tinted. I've got 20% all the way around. Black is a great color if you keep up with the exterior detailing.

I'm not really sure, yet. I just bought it to have a nice luxury sedan, thought the performance would just be a bonus. I had no idea this car was going to have such a sports car... attitude? I'm trying to fight the mod bug, but I'm sure hanging around here won't help.

well the good thing about your car is that you can do something to it that will make it very very fast but still you don't lose ANY of the comfort (tc and lsd). that's the beauty!
