Question

Since there is such a wealth of knowledge on this board , I would like to pose a question. As far as pure handling is concerned (eg. road courses). What is the optimal rim size (dia and width F and R) /tire combo for the GS?

I heard the higher profile tires lets you go into a corner faster whereas a lower profile allows for more speed out of the turn. Any experience or thoughts on these points?

Not that I'm going to go all out race but you never know
Thanks

Default based on what i read....

from the past japanese mags i read, 18" would be your best bet if handling is the priority. perhaps this is the reason most light weight japanese wheels only offer maximum in 18"s. either:

18*8.5+9.5/ or 18*8+9
18*8.5+10

245/40/18+275/35/18

19" fills out the fender well the best, imho; but i rarely see any japanese tuner does 19" and larger on their race cars.

18" rims are the ultimate since anything larger would slow you down alot unless you have them custom made to be realy light wieght from like magniesium or something but 18"s are the way to go if you want something different and still want to be able to speed on the straight ways without loosing alot of power
