Default Excessive Windshield Chips

Is it the windshield on my GS or are they very easy to chip. The first month alone I was hit with small pellets on the highway and 3 different chips in the windshield. I got them repaired and just to day doing 30mph. A rock was kicked up by the vehicle in front, very small crack formed on the windshield. It's repairable but I mean. Of all the cars I had before this I have never encoutered this many chipped windshield. Is anyone else have this problem?

I think for some reason the whole front end of the GS is pretty susceptible to rock chips. When I bought my GS it had a rock chipped winshield. Must be something to do with the blunt shape of the front end. It also seems like the factory paint is not that durable & chips pretty easy up there.

umm, dunno, the windsheild on my 98 gs4 is holding up pretty well, and i drive a lot of long distance at very high speed. by comparison the one on my gs4 is a lot stronger than that i had on my previous cars already. granted, i still get quite a few, but it's not bad

ps. but then yes, i have a little crack on my windsheild.... now that was a HUGE rock

Last chips I got repaired cost on 80.00. So I guess cost would not be a issue. But start adding up in the long run if the windshield keep getting so easily cracked.

I don't have any rock chips or crack with my GS windshield but the bumper & the hood is a different story.
