Jucee: I don't think they were necessarily calling the parts cheap for honda, or denying that it's a well made engine. They are ranked as one of the top 5 cars for durability for many years! But like you said, they are mass produced b/c the car is more common and affordable. That's not necessarily the case for Lexus tho, they aren't the every day run of the mill (not to bite off another memeber's quote) car. It's something that takes time to get. And the parts as well. Not hating on "fake" parts, but just like the guy who was on ebay selling "these" lights for almost nothing, there would be some issues with condensation and such. JP doesn't have those problems. A top quality product such as these deserves a price tag as such.

May have misread your statement, and might have just agreed with you more, if so, i got your back on this! lol

Just imagine JP tails on the following photo and you'll see what a difference it makes. The exclusivity is another factor to consider.

The are a lot of people out there buying cheap parts for their GS and the difference between the discount products and the quality products may be subtle but when you see the two side by side its clear. One look at John's car, in person, and you think - "This GS is NOT your run-of-the -mill GS'. Quality parts make the difference. I'm getting the taillights and the 3 piece wing......eventually. I want you to look at my car and think, "Oooh that's nice. So clean and classy." Not "WTF did you do to that thing."

John: Do you have this photo larger so I can use it as my desktop wallpaper? 1600x1200 if possible.

Thanks.

Those of you who know my cars know that I dont take any short cuts on what I put on them.....that being said, over a grand for tail lights is absolutely rediculous. I dont care how they are made, or what they are made of.......they are overpriced!

They do look damn good though!

about companies, honestly (no disrespect here john, i am sure you will agree) i think JP is good but there are couple of companies that are just as good, for example sessions, fabulous, admiration, etc...

imho, those are all top notch exclusive japanese companies who spend tons of money to make quality stuff for the top of the line cars out there. it's a good thing, otherwise if there is only one company, it's all about monopoly

ahhahahaha, i can't stop laughing jeff. knowing your history on modding cars, i just can't believe you will REALLY NOT get these taillights.

ok here's the deal jeff. get the taillights and snap them on your cars, and see how they look. if you really don't like them, i will get them off you for 900

I hear what your saying, but there's a difference in spending money, and blowing money......actually maybe there isnt in my case! I just cant justify spending that kind of cash on tails.

I can justify 7 grand on wheels and tires!

Wait until you see the new shoes... ......hopefully by the end of next week.

Post bigger pic

John. Can you post a higher resolution pic of your tail light (preferably in upright position) ? I'd like to print out a life size color copy and stick it on top of my 97's tail. Gee, what am I gonna do with the $1500?..............How much is the JP rear wing?
Just kidding John. I absolutely adore your tail. I'm talking about your car! Great work, man!

The process is long and expensive and surely, I had to get the prices lower just to enter the US market. At these prices, after shipping and duties from Japan, there pretty much no profit left. The prices for these b4 were over 1500. Even for me, these tails are hard to come by. They are not "mass produced" at all to ensure the quality of them. Ask anyone who have seen them in person. There are no condensation issues whatsoever. Plus, like everyone is saying. This is one rare commodity in the Lexus community. Honestly, even I am having a hard time getting these made and imported here quick enough. They just take a lot of time to produce.

damn John, your car is looking sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

Its so funny, but the Junction Produce Tailights are like a recurring topic here, every few months there is a thead like this! LOL. I have to agree with the other posts here, with one exception: I think the JP tails are better served on a FULLY modded car. Bluelex is a good example, a car that is modded in every category (wheels, aero, coils, ICE, engine, yadda yadda). Same for Dave GS4, the car is modded in each and every way so why not 1300 dollar lights (especially when they are a gift! ). I also think TTurboPIMPs old ride was worthy of the JP treatment.

And for anyone that has purchased designer clothing, I do not see why the JP sales pitch is so far fetched. They are top quality, are they worth 1300 dollars? Maybe not. Are Seven jeans really worth 100+ dollars a pair? Probably not. Its all about exclusivity, if HRE/iFORGED/Zauber Gettin wheels cost 2k with tires in chrome for 20" staggered, TRUST ME, no one would give a damn about them!! LOL

Also, the price of aftermarket parts is proportionate to the value of the car. That is why Acura springs are 200 dollars, because their most popular cars cost 20-30k. Lexus cars are predominantly 40-75k. For reference, a Lexus GS body kit is about 2k on average. A Lorinser DTM front bumper for a Sclass Mercedes is 2500!!!!!
