Dude...that happened to me about two years ago....
dont underestimate the cost of the damage...before i knew it...i was at about 4000!

Did you check the radiator cross support...that usually takes a beating too!

Let me see if i can dig up some picture for you to see the comparison..

This is the part i'm telling to check....
looks can be deceiving..you could imagine what i felt when i popped the hood and saw this...

Did you look? you may be surprised..this was where most of the cost was...radiator had to be replaced too.

BTW..i hit truck tire (no rim) just rubber as well.

rominl: I was thinking about going with a different bumper. However, damage isn't too bad, so repainting is my first option. But I did go to Carson site and looked at the assortment of kits. lol

GS4DOUGIE: Thanks for the PM. Replied.

GS4fun: Thanks for the pics. That's starting to get me worried. Hopefully, I don't have that much damage *knock on wood*

I will post an update once I stop by the body shop today and see what the real damage is.

LsportGS4: Yeah, I was going probably 65 and when I saw that the cones were actually merging into my lane I had to speed up in order to pass the big rig to the left of me. Not enough time for me to slow down..I would've probably been hit by the back half of the big rig if I did that.

KVA: I was on the 10 Eastbound. Peck Rd.

I agree with everyone...at least I'm okay. Now that I think back, it could've been a lot worse.

Default WHAT A BAD BREAK

My heart goes out to you as well. I know how much we put into our cars, and when something happens, it affects us deeply. It is more than money, because our cars are a big part of us.

I have a daughter that lives in that area, so I know where that is. Everybody moves pretty fast there, and it is easy to get into trouble.

I hope you will get this fixed soon, and get back to what we do best....enjoying our cars.

Not a problem...just want to make sure you inspect carefully before you decide not to get your insurance company involved...it doesn't take much for big $$$ to add up you know.

damn... must have been some hard cones. But good decision, would rather have that than the damage from a semi...

damn man really sorry to hear this, i remember i hit a styrofoam cooler top hovering in the air that took a good chuck of paint with it.
