For those of you who have forced induction. I am considering purchasing a supercharger kit for my GS. I have a few questions,
1. Have you noticed any problems with day to day driving and reliablility?
2. Do you think that changing the TC would be advisable
3. Was the install rather straight forward? I am mechanically inclined and am considering installing it myself.
4. Is there a noticeable gain in noise from the engine compartment into the cabin.

I really appreciate any feedback
If you could tell me how long you had your kit and your overall impressions, I would gladly appreciate it.

Hello Ricky,

I have a supercharger on my car(GS400) for the last 1 1/2 years from SwiftRacing.

To your questions:

1. Have you noticed any problems with day to day driving and reliablility?

Answer: I had no problems whatsoever with day-to-day driving and my reliabilty with my kit in the boost range it was made for has been excellent.

2. Do you think that changing the TC would be advisable

Answer: Yes since most of the boost is made after 3500rpm whereas the TC makes its impact below 3000rpm.

3. Was the install rather straight forward? I am mechanically inclined and am considering installing it myself.

Answer: Not that I could do it but yes the kit was quite straightforward to install. The shop that did the install took approx. 11 hours for the kit to be put on the car.

4. Is there a noticeable gain in noise from the engine compartment into the cabin.

With my kit the car is quite loud with the supercharger whine from outside the cabin. I like the whine myself but I know that the new supercharger units that Swift Racing is coming out with is almost completely silent.

Whatever choice you make the power of the car will be incredible.
