Nope, it costs too much for gas and such. But all that may change when Lexus will start opening their showrooms there next year.

Not to go off topic, I think Lexus is also opening a showroom in Jakarta sometime next year too! I am psyched!

over there in asia a lot of time they tax car due to the engine size (for example hong kong and taiwan). that's why they have the v300. i6 engine but turbo for ultimate power. the gs4 would be way too expensive

Heheheheh.....

I got a couple of something2 lined up for the car.....a new paint job is not that far down a very long and expensive list.

By the way, I am going all-out VIP this time. I've just about done putting on every bolt-on stuff available for the V300 engine and I looked into going single turbo last week and I was looking at about $15,000 just to get that extra 100hp (up to 500hp, from the current 400hp or so). IMHO, I just don't think I could make that kind of investment. I can just about eat up every 4-banger on the street these days, but with the new much lower front fascia and my upcoming *cough* new *cough* suspension, I don't think I will be drifting or racing the car ever again hahahaha.

In Indonesia, for every engine above 3000cc (3.0L), we get slapped a 300% luxury car tax. It's strange how the former government works. The way they see it is that there's such a HUGE income disparity in this country, and they don't want the rich people to be driving around in shiny luxurious cars while the rest of the country are barely scraping by scavenging for food.

What the govt doesn't realise is that, if the rich people are really THAT rich, the govt can slap on 1000% car tax and they would still buy the cars they want. A used Carrera here is over $250,000. There's a 2 year waiting list for a Ferrari Modena (priced locally at over $300,000) and you see brand-spanking new Range Rovers (easily over $180,000) all over the streets.....

My Aristo brand new would have cost me over $75,000. Lucky I got good friends like Gewe21 and Blackened who coaxed their dad to sell me his for dirt cheap (well not dirt cheap, I could always use more discount hahahaha).

It sucks I know....
