I like the OEM spoiler too.

when you trade your trunk with the dealership, did you switch the VIN on the trunk as well?

Thumbs up

I like the look of OEM spoiler...go for it. I had to purchase mine seperately.

RayGS3:

Good question. And, to answer your question, no. As you know (many may not know this), there is a sticker on the underside of the trunk lid that can only be seen when you remove the inner carpeted liner. The service manager told me that it is a one-use sticker. In other words, if you try to take it off, it will self-destroy. I didn't want to argue with the guy because he was doing me a favor, so we just left it on there. Also, I figured he would have just as much of an interest in switching the stickers as I would, so if he says it can't be done, who was I to argue. Anyway, the only way it will become an issue for me is when I sell the car, and even then, it probably won't even come up. First, someone would have to actually take the liner off to see the sticker. Then, they would have to compare it to the VIN on the windshield or the inside of the driver's door in order to see that it doesn't match my VIN. If they do so, I will just explain what happened. I have the pictures to prove it, so I'm not too concerned. However, your point is very well taken.

If your not going with a body kit, then OEM is the way to go.

Hey HotBlue400. Do you mind if I ask you a question? Do you have the third taillight in the window? I am trying to figure out if there's a difference between the OEM spoiler that comes from the factory and the one that Lexus dealers install after the fact. Thanks.

That's what I thought. I could be wrong, but it seems that the one that Lexus puts on after the fact is similar, but not exactly like the one from the factory. I could be wrong, though.

if the spoiler is from factory there is a 3rd brake light on the spoiler but not on the rear deck. if there is no spoiler from factory, there is a 3rd light on the rear deck. that's an easy way to tell if your spoiler is factory installed or dealer installed. most dealer installed spoiler they don't take away the rear deck lid brake light, too expensive

I think BananaGS's website shows how to disable the third brake light on the rear deck. After reading it, I still don't quite sure how to do it.

Anyway, you guys can go there and take a look

yup, you can disable it. but it's still there, sometimes it's kinda bothering. that's the case to me, i am glad that my factory was factory installed

talk to davegs4, he has more info. his spoiler was dealer installed and he took out his read deck lid light

actaully, i like both lights there. it keeps people from getting too close at night because it
blinds them when i hit the brake.
