i am having a problem i hope someone can help with my gs400 1999 blows cold air from drivers side and hot from passengers with it set to low even without using dual it blows hot passenger cold driver ,inshort passenger has no ajustment.i changed climate controle unit but still the same

 

maybe you could take out your fuse, and reset it . otherwise, maybe remove your pos batt cable and reset it that way. if that doesnt work, it must be something serious.

 

mine ( 1999GS400, 57K ) is doing the same. took it in two weeks ago to lexus dealer, and they filled with refrigerent. they could not find the leak. well most of it leaked out and it is now blowing cool but not cold air on drivers side and warm air on passenger side

i took it in yesterday and they just called and said they found the leak. the evaporater valve and some tubes or something need changed. something like 4 parts in all. (sorry if i don't have all the details, i was sleeping when they called.) of course its all under the dash and hard to get at. i think they said they have to remove the dash.

charge is $1500.00. about half is for parts. of course car is out of warranty. i about sh*t my pants on that cost. i'd take it somewhere else but they've given me a 2004 RX330 to drive until my car is fixed which won't be until next wed. or thur. they have to order the parts monday and they won't be in until tue. or wed. and of course if i take it to discount garage i don't get a loaner. i also feel like lexus is more likely to do the job right and stand behind it.

this is the first problem i've had with either of our 2 1999 GS400's so i guess i should'nt be to upset. i'm just not sitting here with $1500 available. i came up with a way to get it but i'll have to pay it back. hope nothing else goes wrong.
