Dog, you may not realize it, but this may be one of the fastest cases of "getting back in the saddle" ever!!! After only a month, you have a new car and mods!!!

I'm really glad things worked out for you bro! Drive safe and enjoy the new car!

NIce comeback to the beloved GS family Eric I see you wasted no time putting "standard" mods to your new ride You will also love the perforated seating in the Platinum Edition GS.

Keep her looking nice and feeling cozy, and drive safe

I have a silver 430. I noticed you have the license plate holes in the front as well. I just "fixed mine" with some artic silver colored plugs from bumperplugs.com. Looks great and matches our color really well. Just FYI and congrats on the new GS.

wow, U guys !!! I definitely didn't expect to see this much of a response to my thread. Thanks for all of your support, U guys are the best!!

I see a few have questions, so I will try my best:

JacobT - you are the original Dronell God! I will most likely be looking for another "flavor" of wheel just for something new!

chicagoblknazn - the insurance company wouldn't TOUCH my mods as far as reimbursement goes. Oh well

Cadd - this car belonged to an older lady up in Syracuse who had passed away. So it definitely wasn't from Philly.

Some other random updates:

I picked this one up one month to the day after my accident on May 1st with 39K miles on it and had my Lex service guy run the VIN for me, so everything is cool.

Shame on me, as D said, I had the exhaust sitting in my garage before I even had the car. The following week the Tanabe coilovers went on. It was that big-*** springtime mod bug again!!!

At first I wasn't too excited about the grey interior since I wanted black, but this one was just too clean to pass up. The interior leather is about an 8.5-9 out of 10 which is good. I love the perf seats, but I am trying to figure out what to do with the interior trim. I like the Bird's Eye Maple Wood, but I'm not 100% on doing the flat wood stick-on kit again since it looked so-so, but we shall see.

My only other dilemna will be what style of wheel to go with......dish? Spoke? Mesh? Chrome? Silver?

And yes, just like the title of this thread, Lexus does truly own me at this point!!! I've NEVER bought the same car twice in my whole life!

Y'all have to help me mod her into something special!!!

Thanks everyone,

Eric

thanks, playa!! I forgot to comment on the Tanabes. Since I truly have no basis for comparison with other coilovers, I can only say that the test ride we went on blew me away! The cornering would be completely flat if not for the stock rollers I'm on right now. These coils are nice and stiff, but still responsive even with the 1-finger gap I have all the way around. For that reason, I'm def not going any bigger than 19s when I do get new wheels. I'll raise these up a few turns as well. My g/f doesn't mind the ride, so it can't be that bad. Does anyone else on CL even have these???

ohh snaps, your car looks great. I have the same exact one, but not lowered. I always wondered what my car would look like, if it was lowered.

Also, how much did you pay for it, how many mile. If you don't mind me asking?

Congrats, you will really like the silver, especially since you had black, silver always looks clean, its a lazy mans color but for us car freaks, there is no color that doesn't get taken care of....I hear ya on the black /grey interior, I had to have black with my silver (and love it ) but ran accross some grey interior silver ones when I was shopping, I am sure the V8 is nice but I am satisfied with the 6 cyl, the V8 would get me in trouble, nice 1st mods.....tint, wheels and a wing and you can call it a day.....ahhahahah

ebruce2 - congrats on becoming another member of the silver GS400 club!

The V8's great isn't it? And jumping into coilovers... way to go! Took me 4 years with mine. I've done one or two other things as well though

Anyway, great bounce back from the sad end to your previous car.
