if anything, i think the most i get out of this group is the friendship. we talk a lot about cars, but imagine that we actually hang out together as families, talk about other stuff, work, trips, stories.... it's just great! all of our families know each other!

Jawnthen is our NorCal resident video guy. He obviously couldn't include his GS in the vid, since he was manning the camera for the whole trip.
It took a lot of effort to make the video shoot run smoothly and come out as good as it did.
First we un-bolted the removable top on the back of a 4Runner. Seems simple till you find out how heavy it is.
We took a tripod and strapped it too the bed of the 4Runner to hold it steady.
We even had a 13inch monitor in the floor of the truck to view the footage.
Jawnthen then hung on to the roll bar for support while he shot the footage, rotating the camera on the tripod as needed. Try doing that for 4 hours and with the freeway wind at your back !
Credit also goes to the driver (Ava) who had to do a lot of speeding up, passing and slowing down; all while following the directions that Jawnthen shouted out. I'm surprised we didn't **** off a lot of drivers with that.
A lot of the shots were well choreographed because we were given directions through FRS radio the whole time.
He also went to quite some trouble to scale a mountain wall to get a good camera angle.
We learned a lot after doing this shoot. The hardest thing was trying to keep the camera still, given the stiff ride in the 4runner. We will have some cool shots using some hi -tech tricks on the next video release. I promise you will wonder how we shot some of it.
Jawnthen's not a pro, but that may change after he gets his credentials in the video / gaming coursework he is taking, not to mention he already has an engineering degree from UCLA.
Props to Jon Again !
