Default To lower or not to lower....

Hey guys,

so its almost spring and time to cleanup my GS.

Ive got a WIN kit on it currently and will be on 18s

Ive wanted to stiffen up the cars suspension since i got it, but am affraid the drop will be too low with the kit. The win kit brings the ground clearance of the bumpers/skirts pretty low....and im affraid if i lower the car 1+ inches itll be bad news....especially in the winter here.

If I had 19s or 20s maybe it would be an easier decision cuz the car would sit alittle bit higher off the ground, but im only gonna have 18s on it.

I would like to do a Tein Flex setup, but dont wanna end up with blown up areo because of all the pot holes out here in boston.

what do you guys think?

(the car actually doesnt look jacked up at all...the kit at stock height looks really good. everyone asks if its lowered. and its black car, so wheel gap is alittle less subtle)

well imho if you are afraid of cracking your kits, you shouldn't have gotten one that's this low to begin with at all. and to me, i don't care how low the kit is, i don't like wheel gap. 1 finger is the most i would want to live with.

i thought I could live with 1.5 finger too, but after about 2-3days, out came the jack/wrenches LOL

Boston, I think you should get begger wheels, that WIN is a very aggresive kit, it may be overpowering 18" wheels. That would also allow the drop you want

unfortunately the win kit will eat 18 inch wheels do 2 how it sits, if u slam the win wth 18's u'r going 2 have a 1 inch finger gap but not at the wheel but off the ground

I agree with D, this kit will look too aggressive with just an 18" wheel, so your best bet would have to be get bigger wheels.

totally agree, it's amazing how that extra HALF finger gap can get you huh?

and yes, if you want to get more clearance, get 20s. if you stay with the same finger gap your car will be 1" higher
