Umm I just received my 03 tails and 1 freakin bolt was so tight I stripped it...

Who knows how I can get that bolt out ???

To be honest all 4 of those bolts suck, all 4 are so easily deformed, no rigidity at all...

Please give me some info/help with this !!!
If anyone is in the San Francisco - Sac region that can take it out for me would be great !!

 

If you can't get locking pliers in there, then there is a product that will cut into the bolt head/nut to get it out. You really can't reuse the stripped part afterwards (but if it was stripped, why would you ). I think Craftsman's version is called Bolt-Out. I know Home Depot has something similar. What sizes are these bolts? I have the Bolt-Out but only for certain sizes. I guess if we both can make the next mini-meet (which I think is the dyno (I'm still 50%), I can bring it if I have the right size so you can get it out. Or you can buy your own . Up to you. You should go get the replacement ones though so when you do get this out, you have something to put back in.

Do you mean stripped bolt or stripped nut?

If its a bolt, can you use a pair of vice-grips to remove the entire thing out and replace with another.

It is a screw...with a phillips head.... How would someone strip a nut ??? Never heard that happen...But Ill post a pic asap....

So you stripped the head (where the phillips + goes) or the threads of the screw?

Yea the thread of the screw....When I applied torque to the screw driver, it turned but when I looked at the screw it didnt move.... THe screw deformed where the + head goes... And I tried other things, but it just made it worse...Hope it can be taken out...

 

Use a 10 MM 1/4'" Socket!! Problem solved!!

 

A pic would be great. I'm not sure what you were trying to remove. I just took a peek behind the taillights and there is a couple of nuts back there. I did not see any screws that you would need a phillips. Although, I did not try to take everything apart so it may be in there somewhere. It has been over a year since I replaced my tails so I don't remember the details.

boy, instead of using a philips screw driver, use a 10mm hex wrench! that's how they got the bolt so tight! they used the hex, not the philips!

 

if you can drive down to santa clara/san jose area we have more than enough people to help you on that

Does the hex fit in between that space ??? Its the screw the is on the tailight not in the trunk.... There are only 2 black screws on the tails and 2 nuts on the inside trunk right ??

For the 2 black screws on the tails, the space is soo small didnt think anything would fit there... pictures later

 

4 the 2 bolts on the tail light use what rom says, enough room 2 get in and out....
