I just saw this on Ebay. The wood steering with e-shift that will fit all 98-04 GS300 and 400 is a misinfo. Please note that the steering whell came off the 01+ GS300 with e-shift and the air bag designed on the 98-00 GS400 or 300 will not fit the 01+ model.
Just a head up if some of you see this auction on ebay and want to bid on it.

Thanks for the info, but what exactly is the problem with it fitting on 98-00 GS400's? Is it wiring? I am really interested in one of these wheels, but that would stop me for sure.

The size of the air bag. The air bag for 98-00 is smaller and 1-stage air bag, which mean the air bag deploy at one speed(wiring is difference). So, the existing air bag for the 98-00 will not work or fit to the 01+ GS and the wiring is the problem.
The 01+ GS air bag has 2-stages, it willl deploy at 2 speeds depending on the impact. A lot of ebayer will tell you that the steering wheel will fit on any Lexus LS, RX or GS, but you have to beware and do some research.

VVT-i is right. These show up all the time on e-bay and the info is not right. Then the buyers put these wheels back up for sale when they realize that they will not work / fit as promised.....

VVT-i... THANKS FOR THE INFO!!!!!!! i was kinda considering getting that wheel (im sure as were many other CL members) and i e-mailed the guy asking about the fitment, and he told me that... "it WOULD fit with no problem" but something told me that it wouldnt fit since nothing in life (at least in mine) is that easy... but nonetheless, good call man im sure everyone here APPRECIATES THAT.
