Help from the GS Gurus
I am in the market for a GS...Just waiting for the right one...I am looking at a 2000 GS4...anything in particular i should know...any particular year GS that is better? I am also looking to put on a set of Boze Forged 20's... I like the Euro Stixx polished...anyone have an opinion or experience with them? check them out at bozeforged.com and tell me what u think...also i i want to lower it a little cause i dont like fender gap...i have H & R now on my car...they make a spring that will give me about 1.3'" drop...anybody familiar with H & R on a GS? i dont want to go ultra low...im too old for that now...just want a sporty/conservative NON-bling bling look without compromising ride quality...one last question...whats the difference between Xenon and HID? i cant tell if they are the same or different...thanks for the help...this forum seems to kick ***...alot of nice cars giving me alot of good ideas...BTW - went to the Ferrari show this weekend in Palm Beach...talk about nice cars!!! thanks for the help all!
one last thing...i have had my heart kinda set on the GS4 but im also hearing to get a GS3 and put turbo on it...any feedback would be appreciated...i have driven the GS4 and i LOVE it...sorry for the double dip!
I'm not a GS Guru by any means, but here's my 2 cents.
Which car you get depends on how much hp/torque you want the car to have.
If you're only doing slight mods, go with a GS4 for its better torque curve.
If you're planning on 500+ hp, I think a GS3 with 2JZ-GTE/Getrag V160/V161 6-speed swap will be best.
I have no experience with the GS3 or GS4 automatic transmission, but I know it will be expensive to build up the stock 5 speed auto to handle that kind of torque.
The Getrag V160 is well known to hold 600+ lb ft of torque stock as long as you have the right clutch setup.
