Default Rmm Front Bumper Practical?

I am currently installing RMM side skirts on the car and have a RMM front bumper waiting. However after some measuring I noticed that this thing is 1.5" lower than the stock bumper. Add to this that the bumper protrudes out in the front vs the stock bumper and I have having visions of driving a mini truck over bumps. My GS is about 1-1.3 lower than stock. So for those out there with this bumper , is this thing really practical in real life? I am thinking of going to a TTE lip as I measured those at .5-.75 lower than stock.
Any comments would be appreciated.
thank you

I was about to ask the same question man ! . Currently, I am deciding between the full l-sport kit or the rmm front with l-sport sides/rear. From the looks of the pics that I have seen here, the front bumper looks alot lower than stock. The only thing that is gravitating me toward l-sport front is mainly the ground clearance because I have a steep driveway.

When I had 18's with H&R 1.4" drop, I had clearance problem all the time. There's even one time I parked my RMM front bumper over the parking concrete bar, when I backed out the car, the whole front bumper trapped on the bar and came off

You have to change your driving habit due to the much longer front overhang compare to the stock bumper. After I upgraded to 20's, the whole car was raised 0.5" and man that 1/2" really made a whole lot of difference. I do not have any problem any more.

To give you a better idea, the front end of RMM bumper is only 4.75" above ground

With some work you guys can have quite a bit of practicality.

My skid plate allows me to drive 90+% of all steep driveways without the chance of rubbing the bottom. The bumper is 4 & 1/2 inches off the ground and going on three years, I have no scratches on the bottom what so ever. Still gotta learn not to drive over parking stops though !

With a front end this low you will get a LOT of rock chips. I custom cut Xpel for the front, so there are no rock chips and bug splat comes off real easy. There are shops that do this custom work, you just have to look real hard. I'm even thinking of offering it for sale myself.

I am working on an improved design of the skid plate, using a design similar to what I did on my wifes IS.

I will publish a more detailed How-To on the skid plate in the near future and possibly offer a kit. Can't commit to a completion date right now though. If you have questions just PM me.

I drive with my Junction Produce bumper on and it sits pretty low. When I stick my foot under it, the bottom of the bumper touches the top of my foot. One thing is, you learn what you can and can not do. There are certain driveways that I will not go up at all, but there are some that I know I can make it up with either no scraping or minimal scraping. A Skid Plate like RMMGS4's is a perfect IDEA! I should get off my **** and fabricate one for myself. =X

I have had the RMM kit for about 10 months now. I had to change my driving habits of course. You have to remember the easiest ways to get out of shopping centers, etc, when driving. Mine is about 4 inches off the ground. I have accepted the fact that I am going to scrape every now and then. Just the other day my friend was test drving the car and he parked too far up and hit the curb...OUCH that hurt me more than the car. Scraped off some the Xpel. I highly suggest in putting on Xpel if you have this because it sits so low. I don't have any rocks chips except for the scrape from my friend.
