Aristo Boost Gauge Walkthrough
Just wanted to throw a quick few pictures of the boost gauge I installed recently. I was going to get name brand and ended up going with a Glowshift given all the other parts I've been buying lately
I wasn't worried about it being EXACT on measurements as I don't plan on running crazy boost for a while, I just wanted something to keep an eye on when driving. After a lot of thought, I ended up installing it in the ashtray location. I didnt want the pillar set up or do drill into the dash as I'm trying to keep this car OE+ I basically just chiseled the excess plastic pieces out of the tray to allow the gauge and wiring to tuck in behind. I also picked this location as it already has the wiring for the lighter and I could literally just pin in the electrical connectors that were there. Another added benefit when using this harness is the dimmer feature on the gauge also works!
As far as under the hood goes, I just tapped in at the MAP sensor. I cut the current wire that goes from the MAP to the check valve and installed the plastic tee there. I ran the vacuum line up and along the intake and then down near firewall. There's a rubber grommet plug going through the firewall on passenger side that i put the vacuum light through. After that, I just pulled the vacuum line behind the center console and had enough slack to plug it into the back of the gauge.
The gauge itself is decent enough as far as the *cheap* gauges go. I do like the fact it has a bunch of different color options, though I picked the green to try to match the 90's Toyota green dash haha.
If anyone else has done this a different way or has more advice, feel free to add!!
Now, onto some pics!!

And just for the heck of it, random engine bay pic
Happy installing!
