Default GS300 Hesitation/Maybe Limp Mode/Very Low Power

My beloved GS300 is not driving exactly how I would want it. It drives as if I am pulling a car hauler. I checked the plugs and they look fine. I checked the compression and it looked good. I checked the oil and it looked good. I checked the coolant and it looked fine. I checked the tranny fluid and it looked fine. I looked for vacuum leaks and couldn't find any. I checked the air filter and it looked fine. It does not have a check engine light, and yes I have checked to make sure it still turns on before the car cranks over. I have noticed one weird thing, and this is that the o2 sensor wire is frayed from dragging on the ground. BUT even that hasn't caused a check engine light. And the way that it is driving does not it could be simply caused by an o2 sensor. It revs just fine in neutral, but when there is an actual load on the engine it bogs, and has VERY little power. PLEASE help me figure this out! I can't stand not driving my baby. Thanks in advance guys.

I tried to scan the car yesterday using two different scanners and it wouldn't read anything, as if the OBD2 port is bad or something. I was able to get o2 sensor reading through the AutoEnginuity program and the sensor closest to the rear of the car was reading one super high steady number. No fluctuating. I looked under the car and saw that it had been dragging on the ground. I still don't see why there is no check engine light, as well as no readings on a scanner.

The first scanner wouldn't read anything AT ALL, and then AutoEnginuity was able to read the basic stuff, although I could not access the advanced version of the program, since it was saying that it could not find a connection\

What year is your GS? Not used to seeing the obd2 term in the 1st gen forum since there aren't many 96-97.

That sounds like a clogged fuel filter.

I was going to suggest checking the TPS and the throttle cable, but it sounds like that's intact since you're able to rev okay in neutral. If you havent done so already, how does it drive when the transmission is placed in 2 or L?

It was a clogged catalytic converter. Fixed it once I got rid of the cat.

Hello,

This is a forum section for 1993-1997 GS300, here is a section for your generation.

Please start a new thread and elaborate on your specific issue, there could be a ton of issues that can result in symptoms you described, from a loose vacuum line to no compression. This thread is 5 years old, it is highly unlikely that anyone is still here.

Hope this helps and best of luck!
