Default Ist gen vs. 2nd: ride comfort

Hello all,

I have my eye on a very low mile, clean 1st gen. I have never driven one of these but I did own a new 2nd gen for several years and really loved the ride (comfy).

Can I get opinions about the ride comfort between gen 1 and 2?

PS-I like the looks of the first gen better than gen 2.

Thanks

In my opinion, 1st gen ride is very comfortable. Granted, when I first bought the car it already had Megan lowering springs on kyb struts. In hard turns Body roll was still present(guessing it was better than stock), but as soon as you exited the turn the body lean "snapped back" pretty quick with a slight turn of opposite steering wheel input. This was 8 years ago and keep in mind it was not stock.

Currently I have a custom revalved BC/Bilstein hybrid and the car rides awesome. Instant turn-in response, quick re-settling from road dips/bumps,and nearly eliminated body roll. My coworker this week said the car handles better than your average sport car in turns, but still retains a stock comfort feel over road bumps.
(I wrote a tutorial a while back on how to achieve this setup.)

Any how, I love the car and find it very unique in its style and stage presence.

Thanks for the input. I do love the shape, always have.

My favorite GS body style.

I have K-Sport Coilovers on my 1st Gen.

At first i wasnt sure because the original suspension is soooo comfy.
now after coilovers i am very impressed because it fells a little bit stiffer and planter but didnt loose any of the stock comfort. for me its perfect and of course i always liked the 1st gen better

i absolutely love the first gen, but a second gen can be made to be just as nice. I think the interior on the second gen is a little nicer.
