Swapping Aristo TT trans into a GS300
#31
I'm looking for pictures of what the output shaft area looks like with it removed. Similar to what I posted above. Thanks.
A couple days ago my 96 GS300 that has the A340E with A350E electronics broke down. It stopped going in all forward gears. This brought me back full circle because it was the original issue with the car when I bought it.
It never ran perfect after the swap but I was able to smog it at least. Now I have more options but I may install another because I can get one for $100.

No problem. I'll check it out when I get the other a340e. I think I will end up swapping the motors between my Supra and GS since it will solve all my current issues. The Supra still has a W58 and oem clutch setup and has been having cooling issues with flex-a-lite electric fans. I also have the CXRacing turbo/intercooler kit which fits like crap. The 2JZ-GE will work out better with the manual transmission and I won't have to modify the a340e for the 2JZ-GTE VVTI in the GS.

The boss is there, so you can drill it with the pan off. Be sure to clean all of the shavings out though. I would leave it upright while drilling with the pan off. Should keep everything out of it. People redrill dipstick holes in 7mgte's, me included for swapping to Mk2 supras. That is much harder than drilling an aluminum case.

I was under the impression that the tt version just had a plug where the line pressure cable was supposed to go. I'ts not that big of a deal but I'm not really too pumped to drill a hole in my trans. Also it doesn't mention drilling a hole in any of the guides for swapping this tranny that I've looked through. My only concern is drilling too far and not being able to use the screw next to it to secure the cable down

I guess I just have no idea what this line does and I've never seen it. I've only ever had a JDM JZS147 but the transmission had the shifter linkage, electrical connectors, transmission fluid in and out. Thats it.

I rebuilt the transmission so I wasn't to concerned about shavings, but if you get lucky like I did and have to drill a hole you might as well consider a rebuild because the shavings got everywhere even though I covered many spots around it.

I've got a complete Aristo swap going into my 98 GS300 soon. According to the OPs thread, I can swap the 3 bolt flange to make the GS300 driveshaft work with the Aristo auto transmission??
My second question would be, can I just run the stock GS300 auto trans and driveshaft with the Aristo 2JZ?
Thanks!
