Default How long do 1st gen GSs generally run?

I'm looking at a GS that looks to be in good shape given the miles, very well taken care of

mileage is at 300k

is this thing just waiting to die, or is it safe to assume it might still have another couple of years left in it?

thanks guys!

depends on how it has been taken care of really. We had one come in for cash for clunkers that was blown the hell up at 169k but didn't seem to ever be maintained. I am at 230k right now and thing is running fine. It needs some regular maintenance done but haven't had a problem yet.

thanks for your reply. The car is cheap enough, but I wanted to know if it was worth the hassle.

I'm impressed that yours is still on the road at 230k. Seems like a really nice car, I'm very tempted to pick it up this weekend.

anything I should be concerned with in particular/tips/stuff to check out before I buy?

I bought mine 1 month ago with 205k on it. I got a huge stack of service records with it and it runs perfect.

I probably wouldnt deal with it at 300k, even with a solid service history.

300k MILES?! my god, i guess they do run forever.

guess mine's a baby, at just over 100k miles.

asking how long a car lasts, is like asking how many mouthfulls it takes to eat a big mac. everyone is going to be different. you can't ask a general question, it all depends how well the car was taken care of before. could blow up a week after you get it, or last another 20 years. it's VERY hard to tell.

I bought mine for $500 with 308k lol but the previous owner didnt take care of it so the motor was done.
Picked up another motor for $400 with 90k on it and still running the 308k transmission and it runs perfect.
