The car looks clean, the mod's look like they were done right. The brake upgrade is good for this chassis because it’s heavy and with the extra power, you can now have some confidence the car will slow down and not experience brake fade syndrome. The claimed mileage I'd be skeptical, compression test would give more confidence the motor isn't tired and old.
The turbo size is what many MKIV's say is a good size and makes it fun to drive. An LSD install would definitely make it more interesting to drive. That is if your going to take it to the track (road or drag) it should run 12's with the stock fuel system. It has the TT tranny, I’d want to know how many miles were on it, and nevertheless, the swap and the TT tranny would mean the engine wiring was modified. The JZS147 and the JZA80 wiring is slightly different and someone would have to know how to rewiring the harness and integrate it to the JZS147 model. The ECU would have to be a TT, I’d want to know if it was the same ecu the engine was mated to or if its an Aristo.
If the wiring was done right the AC control should work if not, I’d ask a lot of questions bout the wiring and what was done to it to make it work. Of course you'd want to make sure everything else is working, there’s a good chance the TRAC, Cruise control and ABS systems have been removed. if they remain, make sure they work and if they do the $10K is a great price for a swap. That’s what it would cost you to do an NA-T working at this power level.
Gauges are nice, the seats is interesting. I was always curious to see how an MKIV would look in the GS. It’s not bad, it will give you better support and will keep you from sliding side to side in the seat on hot cornering.
Make sure all the suspension is still good otherwise you'll be spending a lot to make it drive safely. Go to someone you trust and knows about suspension and pay the few bucks to have someone go over it. Or take it to the dealer and have them look it over. Won’t be cheap but you’ll want to know for yourself if there’s some unexpected expenses you might incur. Refreshing the front suspension or rears can get pretty spendy. The control arms for the front will set you back $600+ and rears are even more $850 for the pair (they are 100% the same as MKIV) Ball joints $130.00, sway bar linkages $130 and x 2 roughly etc… that’s all parts and NO labor. Check the wheel bearings too for wear look for play. the car will need to go on a hoist and grabbing the wheel at 12 and 6 o'clock position, rock it side to side and see if there's play.
Anyway, If I saw this today and knew that I would mod it later and go for big power, I'd pay $10K. I would convert it to a road course racer and I’d do manual tranny swap. For me I’d be more than half-way done to build this type of car. (which I’m planning for another GS) Overall the claimed investment is about right.
