Default Replacing rear window regulator - advice ?

Ok, my Left Rear window regulator is out. I've done a lot of looking in the first gen site here but don't see a step by step or any pics - I guess it doesn't look like a difficult job ? (there's a good writeup w/pics for the older SC) I have one on order from toyota world, but I'm a bit confused as to how the cabling system works.

Anyone with experience have any tips or explanation ?
thanks in advance..

Incidentally, my son's friend slammed the right side door about a year ago and broke the regulator. His parents paid for the repair and it came to about $800. Ouch. Now that I know a little bit about it after taking the window apart and reading some of the msgs here, I think those lazy bastards at the dealership probably replaced the reg+motor, even though I could clearly hear the motor in that window....
