Unhappy Check engine??

My check engine light came on for about five minutes, then it disappeared...should I be alarmed? I drove around for the rest of the day and didnt encounter any shakes, rattles or rolls...

I have a slow oil leak, could this be part of the problem? No other problems with the car; it's pretty well maintained...

Perhaps it's a forewarning of a financial catastrophe?????

It could possibly mean an EGR issue in its early stages. If thats the case, its a common issue with these cars! Theres a thread on here under "code 71 EGR"
Check it out!

Thanx!

You were right on the money! I had a diagnostic done just to be 100% sure that there are no other issues causing CEL...

Strauss quoted about $200-500 to either clean or replace the valve...is this a normal price point for this problem?
