I need help, my car is overheating really bad, my fan clutch was bad I changed it out today and now its just as bad if not worst, I think the water pump is bad but its not leaking how can you check it?? I already search the forums but couldn't find anything that helps. Any advice will help, thanks in advance.

I just went through this..First change the thermostat (22.00) and see if it over heats. If it does touch the top radiator hose and touch the lower radiator hose..BE CAREFUL IT SHOULD BE HOT!! If the lower radiator hose is not hot but cool to the touch and you just replaced the thermostat it means your waterpump is shot..Im assuming the radiator has no leaks and the coolant is either green or red with no rust..Since the fan clutch is already replaced the water pump is not circulating the water and could be the reason why its overheating..If you do replace the waterpump you might aswell replace the timing belt since you right there..Hope this helps..

Thanks for the help. Is the thermostat located on the upper or lower radiator hose?
