speedo/ trip and odometer dont work...
I have an Aristo swap in my GS300....anyways, I was driving and it just magically stopped working all together...I was going about 70mph or so...the speedo dropped to 50mph, then 30mph, then dead. the odo stopped working with it as well.
Apparently, my car is equipped with the JDM Aristo TT Transmission...i figured they were the same as the JZA80 mk4 supra tt, so i went to seek a speedo sensor. (i think the #2 sensor that goes to the back of the tranny).
anyways, I received the speedo sensor and I went to my car to swap it out. Unfortunatley, the gears and unit is different with a different fit and the gear is slightly bigger than the one that was in my car.
I found out the electronics were the same, so i switched those thinking it would work, but of course...it made no difference at all.
with all that said, is my thinking right when i say that the Aristo tranny and Supra tranny have different speedo gears??
what else could be the issue with the whole non working speedo and odo??
if there is an aristo specific speed sensor/gear/mechanism...where can I find one without breaking hard into my wallet by going to the dealerhsip??
thanks.
