Default Idle Problem 93 GS

My 93 GS has about 118K miles, I bought almost a year ago, haven't had problems until now. At idle in drive the car seems like it is missing, so I had a full tuneup done, spark plugs, wires, fuel filter etc. I got the car back and it was fine at first but when turning on the A/C the problem started to happen again. Took it back thought they fixed again, fine at first started driving around that same day, turned on A/C and there it is again. The mechanics said the spark plug wires keep coming loose just a little to cause this. Another mechanic at Toyota advised me it may be the motor mounts that are bad that could be causing the wires to shake loose just enough. Any suggestions.

Do you think it could possibly have anything to do with your alternator. Check your voltage. My alt isn't fully function but gets the job done, and when SOMETIMES i pump my brakes, it will idle funny and sound like will die on me but seems to work right now, so knock on wood.

Preciate the feedback. They checked the alt. said is good. I had a friend put beat in my car about 1/2 year ago and ever since then its ran sluggish, I'm wondering if the guy didn't do a clean job you know grounding it and all that other stuff, I don't know too much about hooking up beat though.

It sound like either battery or alternator Mine started to idle funny at stop lights and would almost die. I got a new battery and its cured!

O2 sensor could be shot and that is a lean miss at idle. Get a multimeter on the O2 wire and make sure the signal jumps up and down past 450mv. The range should be 100-900mv.

I appreciate the info. Kaiser. I'll have my mechanic check it out.
