Default starter problems

when it rains it pours. headlights then hoses now starter. Does anyone know if the starter is fixable or do I have to replace it? Is it a job I can do or not? Does anyone have a diagram of the starter? I think the contacts need cleaning. All replies are greatly appreciated cause they help me keep the 93 gs 300 with 225000 km on the road.

I have a spare starter if you need one. It's a pretty easy fix if you have a lift. It's only two bolts, a nut holding on the wire and a clip. You will find it on the driver side right where the motor meets the trans.

How can you tell that your starter went out?

It's the contacts in the starter. They fixed it at the dealer cheap. I turn the key in the ignition and it would just click. It would not turn over. after a couple of tries it would turn over. But it started to click more frequently.
