I have a 98 GS 400 and have l had no probs. Today I tried to start it at lunch and all I got was a clicking noise. I figured alternator or battery. I jumped it and it ran then sputtered and died. It wouldnt start again. Then after leaving the car to close the hood, with the keys in hand, the car started making noises like it was trying to start. It was very strange. After the tow truck came they jumped it again and ran perfectly. Lexus then called me and said the battery was shot and I needed a new one. They also ran tests on the computer system and nothing came up. I feel that somthing else is going on with the electrical/computer system. Anyone have any suggestions to what It could be or what I could ask the mechanics to look for? Thanks... just want my car back to normal...

 

Sounds like a dead battery to me Wait till you get the new battery then see how things go.
