Default wheels & suspension

I wanted to get you guys opinion those with 18" or 20" wheels on your ride. On 20" wheels, how hard is the ride with a low profile tire (35's)? Is there anything else to add with this mod to soften the ride like new shocks, springs or something?? I've read that some of you had your car lowered to fill the wheel & fender gap, but do your wheels scrub?? I like the way 20's look on our cars and I wanted to get some. 1sicklex, lex4jess and the rest of you with really nice cars just make it look too easy!!

My questions are:
1. If i go with 18's, I think the ride will be more comfortable, is there anything else that can be done?

2. What's needed to be done if 20's are put on the car and an estimated cost to keep an comfortable ride?

I have stock 16's on my 93 gs.

The ride is not too good on 35 series tires. You can get tein coilovers to make the ride smoother and better. It will cost you though (around 2k or so). Like everybody says, you gotta pay to play!!!

I have a 3 inch drop on my car with 20's and they dont rub at all, I also have wheel spacers to fit them flush with the fenders and still no problems, I modded the inner fender wells tho. I am running a 225 35 20 on a 8.5 and 9.5" rim for a little stretch, that helped alot with no rubbing, I used to run 245 35 20's and those didnt rub either only on full lock but thats was just on the inner fender well. I didnt notice a harsh ride with the 35's, just a little firmer but still comfortable...

Man your ride looks real TIGHT!!! It doesn't look like it's dropped that low. Did you have to cut anything out in the inner fender wells to make them fit?

I have 245/30/20 on my mine. The ride isn't bad, but then I don't drive like a mad man. Just ALWAYS cautious for potholes and there are plenty in my home town!

Thanks... All I did was trim the inner fender well where the tire rubbed only a 2X2" square on both sides so I still have the inner fender well intact...

I would go with 19's for looks and comfort. Here is an old pic of my car which is lowered on tein cs. Also my friend smiling for the camera. lol Also the CL members in my car are LOTC and Lexus GS3.

Lexaristo, with those 19's, are you running 35's or 40's size tires? I guess I've never really considered 19's b/c most of the wheels I like come 18 or 20. That also put me in the mind of that tire size would be harder to find if I needed another one whenever i catch a flat.

I am running 30 series tires. I know 2 people who have 20's and want 19's now because of the look as well as ride quality. Regarding tire size, 19's are harder to find and cost a lil more than 20's.
