Default guys, just wanted to share my brake upgrade..

i recently upgraded my front brakes to 1995 ls400 calipers and aftermarket rotors.
i got them used from a good seller here named...."aliga".....and he had sold a few sets of them for many sc guys. im sure these set up will work for you as well since the sc and 1st gen gs share the same rotors, calipers in bone "stock". so if you're looking fr a cheap brake upgrade, i recommend this. the supra brake upgrade costs like what? between 500-700? you can get these calipers from 95 ls400 used for $200 or a little more, depending. then you can purchase aftermarket cross-drilled 95 ls400 front rotors for less than $200.00
that's a total of 400.00! the calipers came with pads and are 4-piston instead of 2 like my old gs and my sc right now. if you guys are local in southern cali, i can installed these calipers for you..........with
reasonable fee of course, hehhee...........instead of overpriced mechanics out there.......espclly lexus dealers.!......hehhee

here are some pics. i installed my calipers long time ago but i got my cross-drilled a few days ago and
i installed them today. oh yeah, you have to have bigger wheels in order for the calipers to fit......
stock wheels wont clear them at all..........no way!!!....im not sure if 18's wheels will clear them but i can
find out. 19-20inch wheels for sure will clear!

How big is that front lip? It looks pretty substantial for a wheel that can fit the LS caliper. What is the wheel offset? I assume it is already high disk.

Nice job.

Those look nice. How many mm's are the rotors?

I have the calipers on the way and I will let you guys know if they fit... Indy, are the rotors you got for a LS400 95-00?? I am going to try to see if the my factory rotors work with these calipers..This upgrade is similar to the supra brakes in the sense that you need high disk wheels..I am upgrading to these until I can afford the rotora or stoptech set-up...Hopefully sometime next year...

the ls rotors about 14inch i think......itsa lot bigger compared to stock gs rotors.....

the front lip of my wheels were 8.5inches...the wheel size is 19x8.5...
lexus4jess saw the gap between the calipers and my wheels.........pretty damn close but not touching at all!.........lucky me

how much of an improvement did you feel in braking after doing this mod... I am talking both the calipers and rotors compared to stock?
