brake caliper - piston stuck
Hey all,
driver's side front wheel seized up today, one of the pistons is stuck, '93 GS ..any ideas on a solution besides buying a stock caliper at the dealer?
...saw a few websites that sell the piston seperately, does this mean the stuck piston can be replaced? is it a DIY job?
Thanks,
Roland

Yes you can buy the pistons and replace them if the bore is ok. However, if moneys not too much of an issue, I'd go with a quality rebuilt caliper. Actually that a pair of calipers since you really should do them in pairs. At 10+ years old, it's due anyway.

..I was having some heavy vibration/wobble from the front, also there was a smell coming from the left front wheel ... took it to a shop, the guy just said one of the front tire was bad, bought a used tire, but prob was still there ...took it back in, put it on the lift, left front wheel wouldn't turn an inch, found the piston stuck.
...as someone suggested, I checked autozone for a reman caliper ...they have it for $48 + my old caliper ...that's the best price I came across ..gonna go with it.
Thanks for the responses.
