there isn't a direct fit one for the IS300's, but they can be made to work...

Sorry, not in St. Louis, but if you are ever this way (Sedalia), I'd be more than happy to take you for a ride in mine... Warning though, in stock form, they are kinda slow and boost gets addicting...

it ~can~ handle more if you are easy on it, but many have killed them with less than 350 even...

the auto trans holds up generally well to 400-450 hp, can be built for $1800 retail to handle 700+...

aside from that, swapping in a R154 or V160 are your best bets - R154 swap probably cost $2000-$2500, V160 swap, $4k plus plus...

^^^I am all about the auto these days but this is going to be a drift car and I want my kids to learn how to drive a manual. I have looked at the r154 swaps and found that guys are now looking at the AR5 as the new r154. One guy is planning on his AR5 swap in Oct. I also came across this cryo freezing thing that Im looking into. Do you know anything about the cryo thing...forgot the technical name?

the AR5 does look enticing... still an expensive (albeit cheaper) swap... couple things to work out - shifter location and a driveshaft, but both should be able to be figured out...

cryo-treating is a process that makes metal more durable and wear resistant by super cooling the metal parts... unfortunately, it isn't a fix for anything, especially weak transmission designs, but, it can help with parts longevity

O...my initial understanding was that it was a way to beef up the trannyto handle more hp.

Kansas City checking in. Anyone still down for organizing a meet since it's about to be summer?

Let's hear some responses in here!
