Day 4 of moving to the Polestar, and I'm definitely having withdrawal symptoms from the Y. But putting my foot down on the throttle, I start feeling better

The P2 is an amazing car, it's fast, efficient, smooth and a well balanced vehicle, but I have to say the current infotainment screen is slooooooow as compared to the Tesla screen. There's a delay going into everything from fan controls to Google Maps. I use Google Maps when heading to work so I can get the best route to avoid traffic, and it takes more than 10 seconds to fully load, where maps in the Model Y load instantly. In other words, it's primitive compared to Tesla's infotainment screen...

So apparently before the Polestar 4 is even released, the Chinese Zeekr it's based on got a huge refresh that included giving it a proper 800V architecture. Meanwhile the 4 is still stuck with the old hardware. Makes no sense whatsoever.

I think it's a monetary decision. Probably if sales of the P4 are robust enough, they will switch to the new architecture for the next gen

By the next-gen it will be even more outdated. The vehicle feels like it was a hand-me-down from Geely and Polestar is doing the best they can to dress it up. Even the Lotus that this shares a platform with is getting the updated 800V architecture.

I think it goes back to what I said earlier... it's probably down to cost savings. BTW, it is a hand me down, the same way a P2 is basically a shared platform with the Volvo C40. What else can it be?

Today is a beautiful day, the sun is fully out and shining, it's in the upper 70's, and I have to go to the office today to perform system maint. Since the parking lot is empty, decided to take some more pics of the Polestar, I have 8 more months left on it before the lease is up

It's such a pleasure to drive, I'm always trying to find excuses to take it out. 32,000 miles now on the Odometer

I thought this was hilarious, so I thought I would share. A few of us were having a discussion in the Polestar forum about car washes. Some guy got upset that I don't use a "brushless" carwash and that I could damage my paint, and I replied by thanking him for the tip and told him I've been using it for years on all my cars, and the Polestar is a lease anyway, so I don't really care, and I thought that was the end of it. Nope. Got this reply back:

I was going to man up, and ignore it, but decided to reply back:

I'm sure this is not the end of it. Man, EV owners........🤣🤣

OK, 100 percent I won't be getting the Polestar 4, which just opened up orders today:

Also, it looks like now you can't order it online, you have to order directly through the Polestar space. Here is the next step after you've configured the car:

Yeah the P4 is pretty expensive once you start adding options. At the top end ($81k) it's basically basically the same as a loaded Jaguar I-Pace.

The only option I added was the Performance pack to make it inline with the M3P. Almost $20k more, so even if the P4 makes up for it in luxury, it's just not compelling enough for me

Sat in the Polestar 4 at the NY Auto show last month. I really do like the looks and quality inside and out. I even appreciate its quirks, but that price is such a huge turn off. Range and performance are also leaning towards the "meh" side for me too. So many other EV options out there I prefer.

It's available now for a test drive, I'm going to probably book one for next week. Polestar's are great cars, I can attest to that currently leasing one, but I'm still not comfortable buying one (only leasing), and that price point is just a bit insane
