Default 2019 Audi E-Tron out soon

I saw this headline today and was intrigued. To be unveiled 9/17/18 in San Francisco. I've been watching the evolution of electric cars and this Audi is awesome. Specs yet to be released.

https://media.audiusa.com/en-us/releases/250

Watch this you tube video, best looking Audi I've ever seen.

***to mmarshall: what do think of the shifter? Totally new design.

***no more pop-tart video screen on top of dash. 2 screens built into dash!
*** side mirrors are optional cameras with screen on inside of door.
*** I wonder if all the lighting will be legal in the US? The sequential turn signals weren't on the new RX.

There will be rear view mirrors, headlights will be conventional Audi cluster like on Q3.

So where is Toyota or Lexus in all of this? How many generation they will be behind once they come up with one?

Toyota has been using digital rear view mirrors since 2006 or so ,also digital instrument cluster(LS600HL) and digital center stack (latest Crown). There is lot of technology available worldwide for Toyota/Lexus models that we don't get to experience. Toyota needs to update some of that tech to include latest and greatest.

I've placed a deposit for one, lets see where this goes. Probably won't arrive until next year sometime and I have quite a while to get my deposit back, so there is no pressure.

if it's close to the concept, it will for sure put the hurt on tesla. and then there's mb, gm, others piling on soon.
i don't see how tesla survives with such horrendous cash burn.

Bear in mind the video posted in the OP is not the E-tron coming out, this is the E-Tron:

It's very funny some people think Toyota has some technology and can merge/integrate them into everywhere, those things are happened only in movie.
IF Toyota has the technology used in LS600H back in 2006, there is no any reason why it doesn't bring them to its lower models later, the only reason is those technology doesn't belongs to Toyota, it has to pay millions to use them.
From software point of view, Toyota is very poor.
There is no any shortcut, if Toyota want to have some features, either develop by its own (and don't infringe other's patents), or pay from 3rd party.
either way will cost them years to integrate to its own platform.

You're right from what I can find. The video is mislabeled as a Quattro which is a SUV type body. The Quattro will be unveiled on the 17th and the Sportback later next year?

I did see a site that said the Sportback was unveiled last year in China. It's hard to find any reliable info on Audi so far. Their CEO was arrested recently.

Not sure what this is but does look good.

Tesla still has the advantage of the supercharger network, it will be really interesting how other brands try and compete with that (at least in the States, they might have done something similar in their home country)
