Wow that’s a lot of money IMO. Can’t believe how expensive things are now. I also try to rationalize 36 mo/ payments. $3833 a month. Fascinating, and no gas. I have to check one out

I like them a lot...

No way I would BUY a Lucid Air. Lease one maybe. I'd be concerned they would go out of business or something and then what would I have?

Thanks for the review patgilm! If both a plaid and the lucid priced the same, which one would you take?

What a car, the interior was excellent with a nice steering wheel with stalks, nice gauge cluster, infotainment screen, alcantara dash and nice wheels. Also had great range. There were only two things I didn’t love, the trunk and the floor in the backseat was a little high in the grand touring model with the extra batteries. The other model they had had a lower floor. Only other issue is the one I would get is a good bit more expensive.

so if you spent $500/mo in gas before a lucid, and now spend $45000 a year in payments but now you're spending $6k/yr in gas, you're still shelling out $39K a year in payments.

but if one is quite wealthy, none of these numbers really matter.

That is a tough one because I really like the sporty looks of the hatchback Plaid (such a good looking car) vs. a sedan with a trunk but if the Lucid Grand Touring Performance was the same $130K I paid for the Plaid I would probably take the Lucid (but I would definitely have to get the performance model because I am so used to the Plaid power). It looks really sleek to me and the interior was really really nice compared to the Tesla. I thought I liked the two toned silver roof but the salesperson showed me the new "stealth" colored roof which is a dark metallic colored roof and in the pics he showed me it looked great. I even liked the 20" wheels they offer and the 500 mile range is an added bonus. I just feel like if it was $130K you would be getting your money's worth because of the quality/craftsmanship and materials of the interior vs. a very fast car with ok build quality.

Saw the new Lucid today. Smaller than I thought it would be. Definitely lacks the presence of a Mercedes S class or a Lexus LS500

overall I did like it.

That trunk design is so odd wonder how they settled on it.

Lucid is in a rough spot they are about to lay off 18% of their workforce and are losing money hand over fist. Most troubling sign to me is they are delivering far less cars than they are producing. Not sure why but that's a huge red flag.

edit - Munro did a hoist review nicely made car. Extremely tight packaging to the point of absurdity looks like a hard car to work on

The one in your pic looks like the cheaper model. I saw a two toned burgundy/silver one today brand new with temp tags and it had presence and looked great. The white one in your pic, not so much.

The packaging is so good that it's actually as spacious as a full-size sedan on the inside. The LS's packaging is so bad that it's a mid-size sedan on the inside.

It's a shame that such a well-designed vehicle is in the hands of such a volatile company as Lucid.

It’s a really good looking car and the interior is very luxurious. The stealth paint looks really good in the video. I just wish they were cheaper and I still question how long they can last unless they start to produce and sell more cars.
