Motortrend: EV SUV Big Test!
I would consider the Model X an SUV before the Model Y. IMO something needs to have higher than sedan ground clearance to be an SUV, Model Y GC is just over 6 inches. Otherwise what you have is a wagon or a tall car.
As an example, my friend who just got the Mach E doesn't consider it an SUV, and when he was looking he specifically didn't want an SUV. He considered many of the vehicles on this list.

once they hit the street, I am expecting off road test of these compact SUVs and the Toyota and Subaru will come out on top.
Assume this is proper place to post this as it talks about the new Y.
I did a 24 hour test drive of the new Model Y late last week. As a current 2021 MYP owner, I have to say I was mostly very impressed. All of my gripes about my car are addressed in the new model (road noise, ride quality, addition of ventilated and cooled seats, ambient lighting, rear controls for back seat passengers for AC, etc).
Where it fell short is a very weird thing. For the life of me I could not get the AC to blow on my face. My MYP does not have that issue and after 3 years of owning it I know how to make all of the micro adjustments on the screen to get the air flow just right (if my wife adjusts it). I looked online and found a few threads on Reddit where it is an issue for a lot of people. It was 105 degree heat index the day that I had the car so the lack of constant cold AC blowing on me was pretty annoying. What makes it even more strange is the new version has "swing mode" where the fan oscillates. That setting actually had the air hit my face perfectly as it 'swung' past me. But I could not get that to happen when the fan was not oscillating (same thing mentioned by folks on Reddit). It seems it could be addressed with a software update; just not sure why it hasn't happened yet.
So, if they fixed that... would I buy? Not sure. Even while it is substantially better than my car and it checks basically every box of what I would want, it still feels almost identical to my MYP. In Lexus terms, it'd be like me owning a 2009 LS460 and test driving a 2010 LS460. Effectively the same car with some improvements and minor facelift- but is it worth the money to move? I think I'd be more inclined to move to an S, or potentially look at something else from an outside brand.

great feedback, thanks. surprised about the air to face being a challenge.

and this specifically but this might not apply to juniper...

Best way from my experience is :
1 in order to feel something, select only the main air vents by disabling the windscreen (arrow up) and feet (arrow down) on screen
2 bring the fan speed to at least 5 - 6
3 divide the flow by using two fingers on the stream displayed on screen, then tilting it up slightly

This is one of the Reddit threads I found where people are confirming exactly what I was experiencing. Being a current owner, I know how to adjust the vents every which way possible... it just won't position the air to hit my face unless in swing mode. https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaModelY...n_need_answer/
on that reddit thread someone wrote:
so maybe AMIRZA can come to the rescue.
But I did also have this issue on model 3 highland which has the same trim piece but doesn’t have the swing mode.

I know I'm going to get flack from, you know, being positive about Tesla, but I have zero issues with my AC in my Model 3. I have zero issues pointing my vents where I need them. No complaints from the passenger side, no complaints from rear passengers. It hit the 90's here and I haven't had one issue with heating and cooling. Sorry to disappoint
