The Porsche Macan EV Thread

so this is a broader question than for this macan, but it seems like every manufacturer (mercedes, bmw, porsche, ford, etc) make ev's that meet or exceed their WLTP and even EPA estimates, EVEN on the highway. that is, every manufacturer OTHER than tesla.
no one believes tesla range numbers. i think it hurts their credibility.

Starts at $80K WLTP range of 310, but based off pre-production tests it'll likely outperform EPA ratings like the Taycan

I wonder if these will have even better discounts than the Taycan.
You can get used ones for nothing.
The ICE Macan will continue to be available and will be the “budget” option.

I live in US and not familiar with Canada market prices.
Plenty of Taycans 2-3yrs old with minimal miles “asking” in the 50s and 60s which is over 50% depreciation in 2-3 years!
You can get Huge discounts on new ones.

From what I've read so far, it's a pretty impressive product. I've always appreciated what Porsche has done with driving dynamics. It's not an "affordable everyday car" by any means but the build quality and the attention to the details are superb.

Watched the Savagegeese interview, and the engineering that went into it looks pretty impressive. One thing I notice, the low voltage battery looks like it's still a lead acid battery. Not sure why a company like Porsche doesn't go with a smaller, lighter, lithium Ion LV battery. These fail right and left and will leave you stuck

BTW, 3 miles per kWh is impressive if that's actually true
