I can't wait to see this in person and drive it.

The Polestar 5, the Swedish electric performance car brand's upcoming flagship fastback sedan, was shown without camouflage for the first time at the inaugural Polestar Day event in Los Angeles on November 9.Unveiled on stage alongside the Polestar 3 SUV, Polestar 4 crossover coupe, Polestar 6 roadster concept, and the Polestar Synergy concept, the Polestar 5 looks exactly as you expected it to.
It stays true to the design language of the Polestar Precept concept from 2020, but it has been adapted for production, getting conventional side mirrors, regular front-hinged doors, and subtle styling tweaks.
It looks great, but arguably the thing people will focus the most on will be the lack of a rear window. Just like the Precept study, the Polestar 5 features a body color-painted panel where you'd expect to find the rear window. How will that work in the real world? We'll just have to wait and see, but modern camera technology will probably take care of that.
Since the Polestar 5 will not go on sale until 2025 – we don't know yet if it will come as a 2025 or 2026 model year – the automaker still has time to work that out. Overall, the electric five-door fastback looks enticing thanks to the coupe-like roofline and sharp design features including the boomerang-shaped headlights and taillights (the latter united by a light bar), the sporty bumpers, and the planted stance.

not feeling it. looks very generic, old, and forgettable.

I'm really liking it. I think they're nailing the styling of this upcoming lineup. It's making me excited for the Polestar 3, 4, 5 and 6. I think they've got some winners on their hands...

That's exactly why people love it. It's looks appeals to European car enthusiasts. Porsche owners will love it, and I can tell you, Volvo owners as well. Why mess with a design that works? Of course only time will tell

I think it looks good but in my opinion it needs "flavor" in the styles for brand recognition.

There just aren't many cars that don't take design cues from something else. When there is one (recent example: CyberTruck), people like to hate on that the most.

i repeat, there is NOTHING special about this car. your polestar 3 looks much more unique.

the german luxury brands are good examples of doing unique things with mostly (imo) good to great results. the bmw xm is excepted, lol
the tesla model x was definitely unique when it came out. the model s though was a very safe design, but had so many other wow factors for 11 years ago that it was a winner.
car design is hard!
hyundai has done many unique designs... some say too many with no cohesion but the market seems to be voting by buying. the cousins telluride and palisade were unusual when they came out... now they're mainstream.
