I have noticed the sound from my neighbors Ioniq 5. I think it’s kind of cool. The Pacifica makes a sound too and our dog can hear here coming, he knows when she’s 4-5 houses away!

Thats great intel about the 25 amp charger on the 10-30 outlet because that would likely be my charging situation in WV…

Th torque of the EV is really fun, even in the PHEV Pacifica it has enough torque to throw your heads back if you get on it quick…

The thigh extender in the seat is great. The last 4 cars I’ve had have had one.

Hi Bit,

If are worried about pedestrians, why not just Drop the Bass! 😁

Is there a reason you don't want a direct connect charger? They usually cost less to install, since you don't need a ground fault breaker, or expensive outlet. I have not seen a plugin charger that can go over 40A (.8 x 50A).

There are many 50A plug in level two chargers, my neighbor has one. Reason I will go plug in is the ease of replacing/upgrading it.

Also Hyundai just signed onto NACS so you’ll have access to the Tesla network.

50A plug in is 40A charge. If you can prove me wrong, please do.

Mike is correct here. For a 40 amp charger, they require 50A and above. Most plugin charging cables that come with EV's (third party may differ) are up to 32A max. Although a 14-50 outlet seems more convenient, in reality a Home charging station is not only more convenient, but is faster, handles grounding, have more built in safety, and can be remotely configured and accessed through an app. If that's not important, than by all means a NEMA 14-50 outlet will work

What you need is a 60amp circuit to charge at 50amps. If not hardwired you would need a 14-60 plug to meet the code requirements but many electricians will wire a 14-50 outlet into a 60 amp breaker. You can buy both 40 amp and 50 amp plug in chargers.

Please link a plug-in 50A charger. I'd be curious to see it. I assume you mean 48A, though, since the NEC requires 80% of breaker rating max.

Sorry, but if you want to plug that in, you only get up to 40A.

Hardwire is the way to go, and cheaper to have installed.

It is now, but you did start asking about charging in this thread. I agree, it should be moved now that you started that new thread.

so today's adventure... starting with 95% i visited several clients and the office (my commute's about 15 mi. ea way). i got home with 80%. so no charging tonight. i want it to go down at least to 50 or less before recharging and i'll go by common wisdom charging to 80% unless i'm on a trip.

Yeah, that's pretty much what we did early on. Now that we finally have a better charger, we take it down to the 30% range, if possible. We've only charged above 80% once, before taking a longer trip.

What do you think of the sliding center console?

really loving the gauge screen, main screen, and heads up display which is much bigger with more info than my '21 santa fe had (a nice surprise).
Congrats! I've never sat in one of these. There's one around my corner. I didn't expect to see these nice features inside. Does it have air vents and more buttons too?

yup, it's small but it does have a frunk.

I feel the same way when I checked out MY. On smooth surface, the thing is super smooth but when the roads are not smooth, even very light irregular you will feel the bumpy ride. I haven't driven Santa Fe but I feel with the tire set up, it's smoother.

charging port charge level lights are cool.

Isn't it time you washed the (nice) garage? They even have a "gas' cap. Nice way to keep the water out of the port completely. I read some tesla owners have this issue.
