Boasting a 0-60 mph time of just 3.1 seconds and a 155 MPH top track speed, the RS e-tron GT is on par with the V10-powered Audi R8 supercar - all while producing zero direct emissions
Next week I'm going to see if can test drive one of these bad boys
Amirza, how in the hell are they getting those numbers with 500hp?
What does it weigh?
I'm guessing they must have trimmed a lot of weight somewhere.
It's all about instant torque, and being able to put the power down with little to no wheel spin. Electric cars have instant power output so that the power transferred by the drive wheels is equivalent to the power generated by the inverter from the battery. They also have less power losses to heat, so 80 percent of the power is available. The power to the wheels also doesn't have to go through a traditional transmission, so it's more "controlled", power can be pulled from one wheel and sent to another one instantly when needed. And I'm sure there is some magic mixed in there somewhere
I love the look of this RS e-Tron but look at how little ground clearance it has. It almost seems impractically low for just about anything (driveway bump, etc).
