Prius has more interior room than I was expecting it's not really an issue. Hybrid buzz is still a thing, car is reasonably quick and would be considered fast if it wasn't for cars like the Model 3. Overall, to me this is past vs future. If this Prius was fully electric it would be a smash hit.
The new Prius will sell like hotcakes. Nobody does hybrids like Toyota. But you won't find one for $37K...
It makes sense for a lotta people. It looks like a Model 3, but don't expect the Model 3 excitement.
I know the Prius. Several generations of them. It's a good car, and it has a gigantic positive side, it doesn't bring money to Elon Musk.
Our Model 3 brought money to the workers at the Fremont plant, right up the road from me. That's a key reason I bought it.
GM and Toyota bailed and laid off thousands of workers before Musk started building his cars there. Now there are over 22,000 employees.

I like that.
When I lost my job years ago it was devastating so I will always cheer for people who bring jobs because people want to work and have dignity.

At it's peak, NUMMI employed close to 9,000 workers; they were the biggest employer in Fremont. When they shuttered, homes were lost, the local tax base was decimated, support companies, even restaurants suffered.
When Musk chose the ex-NUMMI plant to build his cars, he took out full page ads in the SJ Mercury-News, on tv and radio encouraging ex-workers to apply.
Today Tesla employs over 22,000 workers and is always hiring. I salute and support that.
Sorry to intrude on this Buy American feel-good moment, but Tesla treats their factory workers like crap. They've worked them into the ground and caused many lifelong pain and injury. They've broken the law to prevent the workers from unionizing. They've broken the law by exposing the workers to Covid. They're no paragon of anything. And if they treated those workers less horribly, it's fair to guess the cars would have less of the notorious fit and finish gaffes that have plagued the company throughout its history. https://observer.com/2020/10/elon-mu...-profits-soar/
