Default Straight Pipes GV70 EV Review…

This to me is an EV I would want. Regular vehicle, EV powertrain. Great daily IMO:

Nice review. Genesis is delivering some excellent cars.

The regular vehicle/electric powertrain is something that I really like about my Lightning. Pretty much any accessory for an ICE F150 will fit mine.

To me these are way more compelling than goofy EVs like the MB EQ models or the GV60 from Genesis as an example.

haven't had chance to watch the video, but tl;dr version? how 'compromised' is it being on an ice platform? range? rear leg room? cargo room?

The compromise is going to be rear leg room (no flat rear floor) and some cargo space. Also some efficiency losses

In the North American market, Tesla's biggest competition is going to be from:

Hyundai/Kia/Genesis
Ford
Polestar
VW
Nissan
BMW

Everything else is going to be noise for the next few years

Hardly at all, the GV70 doesn't have the compromises that the G70 EV has.

The GV70 EV actually gets one more mile of EPA range than the smaller GV60 with the exact same motors lol. It's a shockingly efficient platform for an ICE conversion, just like it was in the G80 sedan.

good to see they both really like the genesis ev's, one preferring the gv70 ev and the other preferring the gv60 ev and they both seem to like the g80 ev.

It's not that lame. My "old" S has the same range and that is longer than I can sit for at a time without having to go to the washroom. And I've traveled many times.

It's definitely NOT just good as a daily driver.

I don't really care for SUVs, but if I were in the market for one, this would be on my shortlist. 👍

The question is where you are traveling. Lots of places don’t have superchargers in convenient locations, and in a non Tesla you have to rely on EA etc and their charger networks are very hit or miss.

I would buy an EV today if not for my several time a year trips to WV where charging would be a challenge if it weren’t a Tesla. Tesla I would just have to stop at the supercharger in Lexington, VA, but the EA chargers are in like Walmart parking lots and stuff like that and it’s annoying.

For daily use it would be great and 240 miles of range is plenty.
