Changing the filter is exactly like the PDF you attached. The ES uses that same cartridge type of filter. The draining step will become clear once you have the filter, look at the parts, and do your first oil change. It simply drains the oil out of the cartridge, so when it's removed it's not so messy. Thanks guys. I found the wrench for the oil filter at our local Canadian Tire store, for $5.99, perfect size. Below is a 9 min video clip on youtube that can be useful, it is oil change for 2007 Camry V6, but uses the same filter and I guess it's same engine for ES350 ?

My local garage guy lost his on a Lexus (stayed attached - did not take off). Bought replacement and painted school bus yellow so there would be no more lost ones.
