Post DIY-Change 3rd Brake Light Bulbs (2ES)

We don't really have a DIY with pics so I decided to make one since I needed to take it off anyway. Hope this comes in handy for some people. I changed mine since they were burnt out but still "working." Yes, its pretty simple but first DIY and I had pics from something I'm working on at the moment

Come to the back of the trunk and open it like so (ignore my seats, they're getting changed this summer)

Look directly underneath the 3rd brake light and you'll see a piece of plastic holding down the wires above.

Push that piece of plastic up.

Now you can pull it out from the inside of the car. So get inside, place both hands on the sides of the housing, then pull towards you. It should come out with a bit of effort.

Now you can change the bulbs. Turn the things counterclockwise and just pull it out. 2ES's use #921 IIRC. Make sure you buy 2 of them!

Now just put the plastic piece you pushed up earlier back into place and reconnect housing back onto the car. Congrats, you just changed the bulbs for your 3rd brake light!

Hope this comes in handy for some individuals! It took less than 5 minutes to take it off

Your welcome. Just used my common sense before poking around the forums so I figure this documentation would work better than a diagram

That requires unbolting the tail lights completely. Simple job that requires taking off the trunk carpet and a few bolts. Here is a DIY someone else did
