They gave me $47 Grand for the Lexus. (I paid $53.6 Grand for the Lexus). So in the end I had to pony up around $35 Grand and it was worth every penny.

I am absolutely loving this car. The seats are prefect ! - The cabin is whisper quiet and the Sound System is spectacular! And it drives and feels like a true luxury car.
Congratulations! Given your many previous posts about your unhappiness with your ES, you clearly did the right thing for you. I think your new $82,000 car is going to feel more comfortable and expensive than the $53,000 car it replaces.

Also, I'm glad you confirmed the ES 350's excellent resale value by getting top dollar for your trade.

Yeah, Lexus holds the value well, OTOH I am NOT sure if he can get 53000 for his Genesis now.

I'd add that by now with what you've probably already driven, then engine is probably towards the end of its life

Let's see how well the Kia/Hyundai holds up over time. Highly doubt it has the quality or resale value of a Lexus.

I don't think Cut-Throat is concerned with depreciation, since he thinks the additional money spent was well worth it. But, for anyone interested in comparing resale values, CarEdge has a calculator. According to CarEdge the Genesis will supposedly depreciate roughly $36,000 in one year. The Lexus will depreciate about $8,000 in one year.

It may be a bit of a low ball, but it's not far from a real possibility. As witnessed, the Lexus brand holds an excellent resale value. You only got ~$6k depreciation on a 2025 model by 2026. In contrast, using the KBB tool, a 2026 Genesis G80 shows depreciation ranging from $13k to $26k within the same 2026 year at the 200 mile mark (see image below).

Don't get me wrong, while I don't like the rims a bit, the G80 is clearly a good luxury sedan with a superior performance to the ES. If I were dealing with uncomfortable seating in my ES, I'd do the same and get rid of it ASAP. Reliability doesn't matter much if the car isn't comfortable as a daily driver for an specific body type.

That said, at the G80's price point, I would have opted for an Audi A5/A6, BMW M340i, or Volvo S90; all of which offer comparable or better reliability and a more compelling overall package and luxury than the Genesis IMHO.

You got a good deal out of the ES. Enjoy your new comfortable ride!

It’s like when users rave about how fast and beautiful a $3k MacBook Pro is compared to their previous <$500 PC laptop.

Still, I think the G80 is a good overall luxury sedan. Is that a "premium fuel" sedan?

I just hope we can now stop with the posts from people who are abnormal heights/weights proclaiming to everyone, "The ES seats ARE uncomfortable!" as if they are for everyone, which they are not. They're fabulous.

Isn't it the point of a forum, to talk about abnormal issues?
Or should we just sit here in awe of how great our cars are, dismissing any arising concern?

Agreed
I'm glad I got the 7ES but it doesn't mean I don't have complaints about it.
Most of my complaints relate to Lexus trading practicality for alleged curb appeal.

Absolutely it is, but these people who are 5'2" tall and weigh 72lbs (or at the opposite end of the spectrum) will often fail to disclose that in their posts titled something along the lines of, "ES seats are horrible!" which is a declaration that assumes they are bad for everyone, instead of, "ES seats horrible for me - any advice?"
