Alternator / Charging Issue Help
Well, finally got the car back from the dealer. Drives real good again. They gave us a ‘24 ES 300h ultra luxury loaner, and to be honest, my ‘22 F-Sport seems way more solid. Had my wife drive it this evening, as she drove the loaner more than me (I took her ‘16 CX-5), and she said the same thing too. Look forward to many more km’s! They did a coolant D&F as well, as they had to remove the radiator. The bill showed 2 4L jugs of coolant. I had planned to do an D&F myself, and had bought the coolant, but maybe could wait until next year? Any thoughts?
Also, they tested the battery and said it checked out fine. I am still debating buying a new one from Costco. Any recommendations on replacing the battery? The one in right now is factory, I have 167,500kms (just over 100,000 miles) and the car will be 3 yrs old in 3 weeks.

The battery does check out ok (at only one point in time) with a load test and other tests done at the dealership I would leave it alone.
But for me I would do battery voltage drop test with a Multi Meter (MM)? When the car is fresh off a battery charge or when the car comes home from a drive? Park for several days and do not use then: shut down all electric systems, all lights and doors closed, DO NOT lock car and have hood up (I assume in a closed garage?). Use a MM and record battery voltages across the connected (+) and (-) battery posts over several days. After about 3 days the voltage should be about 12.6v. If below 12v there is excessive parasite drain that needs to be located and fixed as not good for the battery. To determine the amount of parasite drain is an easy DIY test and results should be less that about 50 milliamps (mA). To test with MM on proper Amp setting touch one test probe on the REMOVED negative cable and touch the other test probe to the (-) battery post and read the mA value. Note doing this will require resetting some system presets after reconnecting the (-) battery cable.
Hope all checks out OK.
Let us know results

Yah, should have said they replaced the alternator.
and @ZUL8R , that is a great idea, I will try to do that here in the next week.
